I thought this might be a great opportunity to answer some of the most common questions you might have about me, SJA Studios, and your photography. So here goes............

How long Have you been doing photography?
I started my career in motion picture photography back in 1991. I worked as a motion picture camera assistant for many years before taking what I had learned about lighting and composition and using it in my new still photography business. In 2003 I started Steven J. Photographic. I specialized in fashion, portrait, and head shot photography and then moved into weddings and high school seniors. In 2010 we re-branded the company to what it is now, SJA Studios.

What sets you apart from other photographers?
A couple of things. First, because of my years in the motion picture business, I have had a chance to work with some terrific Cinematographers. From them I have learned a tremendous amount about lighting and composition, which I now use in my still photography. Second, my sense of humor. I am a strong believer that your photographer should be someone that, as well as being a very good photographer, should be able to put you at ease and help make your day and enjoyable one. Someone who you will actually enjoy having around on the big day.

Can we afford your services?
I think so. I know everyone has a budget. I feel I have put together photography packages that are an extremely good value. Am I the cheapest? No. Am I anywhere near the most expensive? No. My pricing reflects the amount of work and care I put into producing your images. Sure, you can get someone to photograph your wedding for $500 from the online classifieds. Is that someone that you feel you want to trust to capture all of the most important moments from your big day? Probably not. When you hire me you get someone who will work hand in hand with you from the very first meeting, all the way though the completion of your images and albums. I will also be there long after that if you have any further needs.

Who do you work best with?
I think everybody has an idea of what they like when it comes to photography. I do kind of a freestyle photography. A mixture of photojournalism and traditional. I try to capture the events as they unfold as well as get a few traditional portraits to keep Mom and Dad happy. People who enjoy this style are going to be people I work best with.

Do you have back up equipment?
I certainly do. I carry back up camera bodies, lenses, flashes and lots of accessories and batteries to make sure your photography goes off without a hitch.

What type of payments do you accept?
I accept cash, check, money order, and credit cards through Pay Pal.

Do you have insurance?
I do. I have liability coverage through State farm.

Do you do more than one wedding per day?
I do not. I feel that all of my undivided attention should go to only one client on any given day. I spend the day before and the day of prior to the wedding double checking all of my equipment to make sure everything is working great and ready to go.

What do we do next?
Contact me to set up your personal consultation to discuss all the details of your event. That way we can design a photography package that is perfect for you!

I hope this helps answer a few of the questions you might have. Please let me know if you have any others.
Thanks!
